“ACCM and ACCS: innovative Overhead Conductors with Carbon Fiber Cores and Monitoring System“
Since 2006, starting from the Patent application and then as a participant in the “European Best Paths R&D Program”, De Angeli Prodotti has invested on the development of solutions for future Power Transmission Grids with a focus on carbon fibers.
ACCM has a very light, flexible and safe core of carbon fiber strands protected by an aluminum tube, while ACCS uses a single carbon fiber element and can integrate an optical fiber based monitoring system, which provides information on the integrity of carbon fibers, capable to identify the location of any damage during manufacturing or installation.
The presentation aroused a lot of interest among the conference participants, and new opportunities of develpopment and collaboration have been established.
